SOUTH CAROLINA CWP CLASS

S&BT requires all students to submit a personal Criminal Background Check (CBC) prior to taking the class! You can get a copy of your CBC from the Sheriff's Department in the county in which you reside. SLED will conduct it's own and separate background check when you submit your application packet.
The South Carolina CWP class is required prior to submitting your application for a Concealed Weapons Permit in the State of South Carolina. The course covers the following topics:

Home and Safe Storage of a Handgun
Handgun Nomenclature
Basic Handgun Operation/Manipulation
Basic Marksmanship
Carrying Concealed
SC Statutory & Case Law
Self-Defense Issues
Deadly Force Decision Making
Prohibited Locations
Students are also required to pass a test and a Handgun Qualification Course which is mandated by the State. Be sure to print off the required documents (Application, Check List, etc.) prior to class!
